in length with a rounded tip. Seeds and stems are
extremely hot and should be removed.
Jasmine rice: Aromatic rice from Thailand
comparable to India's basmati rice.
Jelly-roll pan: A large, rectangular baking
pan with about 1-inch-deep sides used to make sheet
cakes; a cookie sheet with sides.
Jicama (HEE-kah-mah): Large, beet-shaped
Mexican root vegetable with thin brown skin and
crisp, white flesh. Can be eaten raw or cooked. The
taste is between an apple and a pear, but not as
